Our LayFlat Press Books
Our layFlat Press Books we have in our senior packages are the most popular items we offer. It’s made with quality materials like genuine leather and the heaviest hinged paper on the market, and bound so that when opened, it lays flat. With the high gloss finish really makes your photos pop. All our LayFlat books are custom designed for each senior we photograph. With a minimum of 10 pages you get 20 side of photos so we can fill your Layflat book full of your senior photos. The Layflat book is panoramic witch mean we can put a photo from edge to edge of the book so when you open your book the photo will cover both pages with almost no seam in the middle of the book. This gives us full range to really make a amazing book the you will have for a life time. So check out our senior packages on our web site Senior packages or give us a call 859-699-2951

A senior photo shoot Jessalyn
One of my favorite times to shoot seniors is in the fall. The colors are great background for outdoor photography. We had a great time moving from location to location. Jessalyn was very creative in her posing skills. She was up for anything i asked her to do jumping, lying on the ground, twisting and leaning. We went to the Henry clay estate for the first session then we moved to down town Lexington KY. Our next session is winter photos at the Kentucky Horse Park. Just waiting for the snow.( i never thought i would say that)

Time for my website overhaul
Its time for me to overhaul my website. I will be giving it a new look with more information on our photography business I have not added my new photos this year. Shame on me! I hope to be working on some new backgrounds for my pages. I will adding more in the way of seniors portraits witch i am leaning in to more thees days. I will be adding a page just for seniors giving them more information on how we do a senior photo shoot. I will removing most of the cheer photos on my site. Cleaning up my galleries make them more user friendly. So please be patient with me on my changes as i try to work this out. If you have any suggestions that you might like please feel free to drop me a e-mail. Thanks everyone

My Portfolio

This spring i need to update my Portfolio. My portfolio is the number one tool for expanding my photography business. I need a lot of new portraits for my book that i show my customers. I am currently looking for some people that would like to donate some time for a photography shoot. I would give the photos on a CD of the shoot to the guest that model for me. In turn i would have all the rights to use any of the photos in my portfolio or on my web site www.r-prescott.smugmug.com . The photo shoot location would be different for each shoot. You can bring several change of clothes or and props you would like. The only requirement is that you show up to have fun. I would like to expand my business to weddings and portraits. The portfolio i am making will be a leather bound book with a tone of my best photos. The photos would be feathered on my home page of my web site. My web site gets on the average of 1200 hits a day. The this gives a lot of attention to of you. Photos will be taken in the Lexington KY area. if you have any good sites that you would like to use i am open for any suggestions. So remember any good places you have seen over the years that you think would make a great photo session. I will review all inquires that request a photo shoot based on my needs at that time. With the first sign of spring is a good time to start planing for some outdoors portrait So if you are getting married and need so engagement photos or just want some portraits of your self drop me a e-mail prescottsphotography@gmail.com you may get picked for so free photos.

Cheerleading Photography

Probably one of the hardest photography to shoot is Cheerleading. The fast action of the cheerleaders and the poor lighting make it a nightmare to shoot. Most point and shoot cameras are not capable of shooting a fast shutter speed to stop the action without blurring the photo. Even LSR cameras with kit lenses will not have a fast enough lens to bring everything together. First you need a fast lens for your camera. One that will go down to a F2.8 or lower The problem with a fast lens is speed cost a lot of money! Fast lens are very expensive to buy. Dont think that if you have a fast lens like a f2.8 that you can just start shoot like a pro. I have only scratched the surface were talking custom white balance of your camera to get true color and not yellow photos. Next pushing the ISO so you can get your shutter speed up at least 1/400 or higher but be careful to high of the ISO and your photos will look grainy. Next you have to set your focus point to center so you camera would focus on something other then your subject. Even with all that i have told you still have to be able to adjust on the fly to make small adjustments as you go. But dont blink in cheerleading you blink and you will miss something like a flyer spinning down or some other crazy move that the do. If i have confused you on any of this then you should leave this to the pros. So dont be surprised if you see me at a event firing of photos stopping the action. Good luck

Wedding Photography

Wedding photography has always been my favorite. The wedding party is always dressed so nice and the atmosphere of a wedding is in the air. As a photographer i am always looking for different ways to photograph the weddings i try to get several different angles, lighting and different posies.
Their is so much to photograph at the wedding it makes it hard to get everything that i see. My average wedding i will shoot over 4000 photos. This makes sure i dont miss anything. I recently photographed a wedding at the Morgan House in down town Lexington A very nice place for a wedding the garden was boasting the fall colors as the cool October air kept everyone comfortable. The bride maids each picked out their own dress for the wedding a black cocktail dress with a light purple bow cay of flowers. the gro
oms men all had matching ties that matched the flowers.
The bride was relaxed as the

wedding move on. The guest were all laughing and having fun as the wedding moved on through the night. The night moved on with the toast of the new couple then the cake cutting and the couples dance. End the night with a horse
drawn care age. The perfect end of a fun filled night.

Spring cleaning
Spring is finally here. Time for me to pull out all my photography gear and look it over for any wear and clean everything. My camera bag if overflowing with everything under the sun. With that i found items was looking for all year (way too many pockets in my camera bag). I even found some of my kids action figures in their. No wonder why is was so heavy, i think i have 5 lbs worth of junk out their. Look more room for more stuff! Yes were not ever satisfied with having any empty pockets in my camera bag. Well i held back with the empty pockets for now i need to able to carry this around. My cameras were all taken down and cleaned inside and out( didn't find any action figures in their ha ha). Now with everything pulled out my camera bag and my cameras cleaned now i have to put everything back! Its still full but much better. Now for my computers. My two main PCS i use for photography a HP laptop and a XPS dell desktop. All photos were a organised duplicates were deleted and backed up on my external HD. All of my PCS the monitors are color calibrated every two weeks to make sure the color it he same as my print lab a must for photography. Now i need to work on my website, i need to try to come up with some new stuff ,add some new photos, maybe work on a new Hi-def slide show. This will take some time because i dont wont to loose any thing in the shuffle. Oh well this is going to take some time. So keep checking in to see if i have change any thing. So my cleaning is mostly done its time to go shoot. Senior prom this weekend this will give me some cool shots for spring. I hope i can find were i put everything in my clean camera bag!
See you all.
